Autograph letter on birch bark signed : Bennington, Vt., to his son-in-law Thomas Mann Randolph Jr., 1791 June 5.

Describing his travels with Madison and mentioning forts and locations that "have been scenes of blood from a very early part of our history;" describing in detail the landscape and plant life of Upstate New York and around the Finger Lakes and mentioning some unusual squirrels; stating that they have about 450 miles left on their tour, but expecting to arrive in Philadelphia on the 20th or 21st of that month.
